Necessary innovations for the further development of the cemetery culture
Cemeteries are good places. In order to stay that way, decisive decisions must be made: 1) the economy. The costs must be radically reduced; 2) the ecology. The "green" cemetery must be environmentally friendly in all areas; 3) the communication. It is a question of culture; 4) digitization. The sustainability of the cemeteries will depend crucially on whether they succeed in linking the analogue and the digital world. (5) Last but not least, the operation of the cemetery is a question of attitude to the product. With these and other suggestions, Prof. dr. Reiner Sörries, the former managing director of the Cemetery and Monument Working Group and director of the Museum of Sepulchral Culture in Kassel, providing impetus to make the funeral culture fit for the future.
It is worth it!
