Products of GS Schenk Bauunternehmung GmbH (1)

As a family business with more than 100 years of experience in construction, GS SCHENK realizes demanding projects in building construction, civil engineering and turnkey construction. Furthermore GS SCHENK is an expert in the processing of natural stone. With over 250 employees, GS SCHENK is headquartered in Fürth-Burgfarrnbach in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region and also throughout Bavaria.

GS SCHENK currently employs 13 stonemasons and has been active in recent decades in numerous renovations and reconstruction projects of historical monuments in Nuremberg and the region. The most prominent examples include the opera, the city wall or the imperial castle.

In order to be able to restore historical buildings as true to original as possible, and to ensure that new buildings fit perfectly into the historical cityscape, the use of the right material is of crucial importance. Large parts of Nuremberg's Old Town and numerous castles in the region are built from the „Nuremberg Burgsandstein“. Today, this unique and typical sandstone is only extracted at „Worzeldorfer Steinbruch“ – a stone quarry in the south of Nuremberg, which has been owned by GS SCHENK since 2000.
